12 things about me

This was a fun thing going around on facebook! I did it but since then I have thought about all these things I should have put so I am doing it again on here!

1. I was named after Gene Kelly (although I am Kelly JEAN spelled the girl way) and got to tell his widow that.
2. I HATE to drive...I will avoid it as much as I can
3. I love old movie stars BUT I don't necessarily love a lot of old movies.
4. I don't make any kind of big decision without consulting my mom, Mike, Ali, Karen and Andi, who knows what will happen if ever they don't all agree.
5. I am full of ideas that I want to make a reality but I have a hard time taking that first step to make it happen.
6. The moment that I knew Andi was my friend for life was in 9th grade when I did not have the field pageantry vest only the street and Andi wore her street one too so I wouldn't be the only one. We stuck out like sore thumbs.
7. I have a lot of dvds and I don't watch most of them. I just want to have them.
8. I am really picky but I LOVE food, hence why I have gained a lot of weight
9. I have a hard time living in the present which I hate. I am always looking towards "when I have a house or when I have kids" It's really bad and I am trying to break myself of that.
10. I am jealous that my husband doesn't have to diet
11. Jurassic Park has been my favorite movie since it came out in 1993.
12. I really want to grow my own vegetables but everything I try to make grow, dies

Accomplishment #5 Viva Las Vegas

SO Mike and I went to Las Vegas last weekend and it was a blast! We decided to only go out for one meal a day so that we could spend our money on touristy stuff. So we arrive at about 10am Saturday morning to Springs Preserve. It's this really neat museum/desert botanical gardens! It had the most high tech stuff I have ever seen and the weirdest bathroom sinks. And a baby fox!

Then we went to the strip and went through many casinos, stopping to see the White Lions and Tigers and the Dolphins at the Mirage!

When we got to Primm to check in, we found out we had FREE tickets to see Boyz II Men! I totally loved them when I was in middle school and their concert was GREAT!

On Sunday, we went to the Ethel M Chocolate factory. I was really disappointed in it because they weren't making any chocolate! But we still got a free piece! Yummy!

Later in the day, we tried different kinds of Coca Cola from around the world! That was a BLAST!! And we walked around all the casinos.

What a great trip!

Please Pray

I have a prayer request...Please pray for Phillip Rolland Butterfield born on January 10th. My best friend, Karen and her husband Eric, had a beautiful baby boy named Phillip. Phillip was born with a congential diaphragmatic hernia and must have surgery. Please pray for him as well as strength for Karen and Eric. Phillip is now at CHOC in Orange. Eric is staying at the Ronald McDonald house and Karen is in the Hospital recovering from the C-Section 55 miles away. Thank you for the prayers!

A sad day

Today we had to put my poor doggie to sleep. She was 14 and a half years old and had a lot of health problems. The past 3 days she has barely eaten anything and the vet said that was a sign of internal bleeding so my mom and I decided to put her to sleep because she would have just suffered and then died. Even though I know this is the best decision, I am heartbroken over the loss of Buttercup. I have had her since I was 12 and even have a scar on my knee from when I decided to walk her on my rollerblades and fell. I am mouring the loss of a family member but I have peace knowing that we made the right decision and she will not suffer anymore.

Hello

After 6 months of having this I finally decided to post! I thought I would start off my saying what I would like to accomplish in 2009:

1. Lose 40 pounds
2. Get a house!
3. Get sewing
4. Start at Etsy shop
5. Go to Las Vegas
6. Sell at the Christmas Craft Fair at Knotts Berry Farm
7. Write a book (and attempt to get it published)
8. Catch up on my scrapbooking
9. Write this BLOG!

I think that is it! I will post pictures as I complete them.

Happy New Year
